Meet the Coaches!

Ryan

Hey there, I'm Ryan Detomasi, a passionate fitness enthusiast whose personal struggles have shaped a fitness philosophy centered on resilience and compassion. Overcoming undiagnosed PTSD and battling alcohol addiction, fitness emerged as my saving grace, guiding me to the world of Crossfit where I found solace and strength.

Embracing this transformative journey, I made the bold decision to transition from my previous career to become a community-focused fitness coach, earning my CFL1 certification. Throughout my coaching experience, I've had the privilege of working with individuals from all walks of life, ranging from newcomers to elite athletes in various disciplines.

With over a decade of experience drawing from a diverse background that includes teaching Krav Maga, Crossfit, designing programs for professional ski and snowboard athletes, managing fitness facilities, and leading mobility classes, I am committed to promoting holistic wellness and empowerment among my clients.

As a proud member of the queer community, I understand the importance of finding a supportive and inclusive environment on one's fitness journey. My goal is to cultivate a space where individuals can feel safe, accepted, and empowered to be their authentic selves while working towards a healthier and happier future together.

I understand what it’s like being intimidated by the gym. Feeling lost, not knowing what to do, or how to do it correctly.. because I’ve been there, too. Growing up I had fun being active, whether it was playing sports or joining group exercise classes, at local gyms, in college, and then eventually CrossFit. But I still wanted to learn more, and that’s what led me here- to share my knowledge with others of how empowering health & fitness can be.

I love to help break down the basics of the weight room, how to move safely and effectively, with correct form, so you can be strong when doing what you love outside of the gym.

During weight training, correct form and range of motion is important to me. So we’ll make sure we dial in technique before we increase weights. Whether we use body weight, free weights, machines, or the barbell; slow and controlled movements are key.

We’ll exercise the full body as well as in each movement pattern, and may even add some cardio exercise to the circuit to keep the heart rate up. Especially with classes; it’s an easy and fun way to get strong with your friends.
